If you have seen it or heard about it yet, it's simply because they are not advertising or publicizing the website much. But this is big news for shoe shoppers, so read the following.
Amazon.com has secretly launched a website in a extremely lucrative market niche: the online footwear market. The website is called Endless.com and looks really promising.
The website is so easy to use, a lot of technology is backing up the smooth browsing steps across the website and the quality of the shoe pictures allows you to zoom into multiple pictures to a degree we have seen yet from other websites...kuddos Amazon!
What you will be really impressed of is that Endless.com (well Amazon) offers an overnight free shipping! Yeah babe [Emeril style ;-)]. This beats the free shipping delivery Zappos.com, Shoes.com and other online stores like Onlineshoes.com, Shoedini.com, Piperlime.com (Gap/Old Navy) offer. Of course, Endless.com also provides the great Free return policy (365 days)...So what does that mean? More deals for us, consumers!
These giants are competing for your business and they will compete for the lower shoe prices possible since they already offer free shipping and free return policies. No question about it, Zappos, Shoes.com et others will have to follow the overnight shipping Endless.com provides if they want to keep growing their businesses.
All we can wish for is that shoe engine price comparison websites will soon offer all the shoe products from these merchants so we can start paying as low as possible for our next pair of shoes without having to search at 5 or 6 different online footwear retail websites.
Update: Buying shoes on Endless.com
I recently made a purchase via Endless and I have to say, not only was I impressed about the shopping experience on the website but I was even more about the customer service.
I bought a pair of Clarks Kip for a price no other site on the web offered, and with free overnight shipping. The check out process is the same one as Amazon's and from personal experience, Amazon has probably the best checkout process of any online retailers. The shoes got there the next day, early afternoon and I was able to try them on comfortably from home. Unfortunately, even though these Clarks Kid are extremely comfortable, I felt the look did not match what I expected.
So what happened from here? It's simple: I put it back in the box, filled out a return form (on which I wrote the reason why I was shipping the shoes back) included in the box and taped the free Merchandise Return Label I downloaded from my Endless account and brought the box to the post office. Three days later I received an email from the Endless customer service saying I had been refunded...and yes my checking account agreed with it.
Great job Amazon, Endless.com is a superb platform, and your experience on online retail and customer service will make it terrific success.
